Pauline Chiu

Biography

Pauline Chiu was born in Hong Kong, and grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  She completed her B.Sc., M. Sc. and Ph .D. in Chemistry at the University of Toronto, in Canada, then continued to postdoctoral work at Columbia University in New York, USA. She started her independent career at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Hong Kong, where she has been Professor in organic chemistry since 2011.  She served as Associate Dean of Teaching in the Faculty of Science from 2013-2017, and she has been an Associate Editor of the American Chemical Society journal, Organic Letters, since 2019.
