John Deen

Biography

Dr. Deen is a Distinguished Global Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota.  His work in research, teaching and extension has been in epidemiology and economics, particularly in populations of swine.  He has focused on measurement and optimization across competing needs in animal agriculture and society. Dr. Deen earned his DVM and PhD from the University of Guelph and gained board certification in the American College of Veterinary Practitioners and the American College of Animal Welfare.
